Awesome review Port! I must say being newer to the bowhunting world it is so easy to get confused as to what equipment to outfit yourself with. I will tell you this, after being an eye witness to the entry wound and blood trail this broadhead left on Jimmy's buck, I ordered them the next day. Port helped me tune them and by tune them I mean screwed it on, shot 2 arrows and DONE. No questions about it these broadheads fly like a field point. I have yet to get out into the woods with them, but winter bow is right around the corner and we're looking to put some meat on the table. |

I have been shooting ramcats for three years and love them, but the reason they fly just like your field point is because the ramcat is the same length as your field point, thus giving your arrows an equal paradox (bend) in the arrow. That is why most broad heads including expandable can not fly the same as the field point, unless it is tuned correctly. Even though they weigh the same, one is longer than the other, which means they bend differently ,so you have to tune your bow until you get them bending the same. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dvREQSH ... re&index=3 Any broad head that is short which gives you equal arrow length will fly the same as your field point, that is assuming you have a good paper tune on your bow already. HAPPY HUNTING |

Meathunter you are right. The length of the head certainly has a lot to do with it. The Hydroshock tip on the Ramcat drafting the air over the blades also has a lot to do with it. Most set-ups are stiff enough, especially with a fall away rest, to accommodate the extra length of a broadhead without retuning the bow. Unless your arrows are underspined, or close to it, most quality heads will fly well. |
