Everyone loves the Chronicles of Tim Wells and Jared Allen. You’ve seen the commercials on the hunting channels, where Tim and Jared are cavemen trying to survive in a prehistoric jungle loaded with man-eating dinosaurs. You love them, right? Well, now it your turn to try to survive in that prehistoric land.

Tim Wells, who is a world renowned bowhunter with his own show “Relentless Pursuit” which airs on The Sportsman Channel, recently introduced a video game app for your cell phone, it works with Apple or Android. The game is called “Trex Hunt” and it is sponsored by Cold Steel. Cold Steel is one of Tim’s sponsors on his show, and he uses their knives and spears.
The story goes something like this: You are a caveman living on an island that is loaded with dinosaurs. All of these dinosaurs have a bad attitude, and they all want to kill you. Your goal is to conquer each level by hunting these dinosaurs with primitive weapons. Boltar, your evil nemesis, has stolen your cavewoman, and you must rescue her. With each level the dinosaurs become more lethal, but you are able to barter the bones of dinosaurs you have slain for weapons that are more lethal. You’ll start with a club, rocks, and spears, and as you go through the levels you will end up with flaming arrows. If you are successful, Trex Hunt is offering prizes for conquering the game. I think that is pretty cool. They will reward you with Cold Steel knives, a Go Pro camera, or maybe some cash.
The graphics are awesome. I can’t believe I’m playing this on my phone. And the sound effects are scary enough that my daughter knows every time I’m playing the game.

Now, I have never been the kind of guy to play video games, and it shows. I still haven’t been able to clear the second level, but I will admit I am having fun trying. Vegetarian dinosaurs are able to kill me. I guess I’m not going to be my cavewoman’s knight in shining loin cloth anytime soon. Nobody likes a quitter though, and I’ve been turned into dinosaur poop enough times now that I’m getting used to it, so I will keep trying to save her.

Just make sure that your phone meets the minimum requirements for the game, your old flip phone from the 90's probably won't work.
